Debt help for New Mexico business owners
Separate the company’s obligations from your own.
This path is for businesses and owners who owe or are alleged to owe money. It is not a service for collecting debts from customers.
Call the office ↗Identify the people and entities
List the business legal name, trade names, your role and the creditor or opposing party. Personal guarantees, co-borrowers and collateral can require individual attention. A company obligation should not automatically be treated as the owner’s personal debt.
Organize the pressure points
After screening, the office may ask about loans, vendor balances, leases, secured debt, guarantees, litigation and operating needs. Keep agreements and amendments together. Flag imminent hearings, account restraints or threatened collateral action early.
Review the applicable rules
Consumer-debt protections do not apply to every business obligation. Contract terms, entity issues and the specific dispute need review. Matters involving tax, insolvency or specialized financing may require a different scope or referral. Ask about availability and fees before assuming the office has accepted the matter.
